METAL FINISHING TECHNIQUES
Plating
Electroplating or electroless plating can be applied to enhance the corrosion resistance or provide decorative finishes. Common plating materials include Chromium, Nickel, Xinc, and Copper.
Anodizing
Commonly used for aluminum tanks, anodizing creates a protective oxide layer on the surface, improving corrosion resistance and providing a base for further finishing treatments or coloring.
Powder Coating
Powder coating involves applying a dry powder electrostatically and then curing it under heat, forming a hard, durable finish. It provides excellent corrosion resistance and can be customized with various colors and textures.
Painting
Tanks can be painted using specialized coatings designed for metal surfaces. Epoxy, Polyurethane, and Epoxy-Polyester Hybrid paints are commonly used for their durability and chemical resistance.
Passivation
This process removes free iron from the surface of stainless steel and enhances its corrosion resistance by forming a passive oxide layer.
Chemical Conversion Coating
Methods like phosphating or chromating can be used to create a thin, protective layer on the metal surface, improving adhesion for subsequent coatings and providing corrosion resistance.
